22nd Annual Knee Knackering North Shore Trail Run
Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove – 30 Miles

ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS
Description:
Canada’s “knarliest” ultra-marathon takes runners across the North Shore of Vancouver, starting at Horseshoe Bay and running along the Baden-Powell Trail to Deep Cove. The course covers over 16,000 feet of elevation change (8,000 ft. up, 8,300 ft. down) through some of the most beautiful scenery in British Columbia.
This is a demanding course and will appeal to people with some experience in trail and/or endurance events. Competitors must complete the race within 10 hours; cut-off times will be enforced from the half-way mark onwards.

- Print the entry form.
- Read the entry form (twice).
- Complete all information on the application. Incomplete applications will be returned.
- Read, understand and sign official waiver.
- Write a cheque or money order for $110 (Canadian) payable to: Northshore Ultra Trailrunning Society. NO post-dated cheques.
- Enclose application and payment in an envelope with sufficient postage.
- Mail envelope to address below. Applications postmarked later than February 28, 2010 will be returned.
Entry Details:
- Entry fee of $110 includes a $10 non-refundable administration fee.
- All entrants will receive a commemorative high-quality garment.
- Complimentary dinner Saturday night for runner. Additional adult guests $15 each, and $10 for children aged 5-16, and $5 for children under 5 years of age.
- Entries are not transferable.
- Field is limited to 200 runners, and will be chosen by lottery in early March, 2010 (exact date TBA).
- Entry is guaranteed to the following if applications are postmarked by February 28, 2010:
- top finisher (1 only) in each age/sex category in 2009 race
- top overall male and female in all previous KKNSTRs (1989-2008)
- Race Management reserves the right to admit additional runners who may enhance the competitive aspect of the race, or have contributed significantly to the organization of the race or the sport.
*** Important Service Requirement ***
To be eligible to compete in this event, in addition to being selected in the lottery, you must complete four (4) hours of service. This may be in the form of volunteer trail maintenance or volunteer work at an organized trail or road running race. The period to meet this requirement for this year is from July 1, 2009 to June 15, 2010. This is a mandatory requirement of all applicants accepted in the lottery.
You can fill in the details of the work you performed to meet this requirement, including date of service, event/race, and what was performed using our Volunteer Requirements Form. Alternatively, you may email/fax/mail details, as per instructions on the Web site. In all cases the Knee Knacker Race Committee must receive all necessary information by June 15, 2010, or you will not be allowed to participate in the Run.
Refund Policy:
Refunds are only available if you withdraw by March 1, 2010, or if your name is not drawn in the lottery. In either case, the refund amount is $100 (Canadian). The remaining $10 is a non-refundable administration fee.
