Trail Work Party Notice

Trail Work Party — Sat­ur­day, May 30, 2009

This year’s Northshore Ultra Trail­run­ning Soci­ety (N.U.T.S.) trail work party will be held on Sat­ur­day, May 30, at 8:45 a.m.

Entry into the Knee Knacker also makes you a member of N.U.T.S. All helpers are wel­come regard­less of being entered in the race or not so please bring a friend. Kids are wel­come if they are capa­ble of help­ing and stay­ing close by to our group. Please leave your dogs, cats and other lov­able pets at home.

What The Knee Knacker’s legacy of com­mu­nity work con­tin­ues on Sat­ur­day, May 30, on the Sea to Sky Trail between Inter River Park and Lynn Canyon. Every­one is encour­aged to come out for a few hours to help move dirt, rocks, build bridges, and tackle other prob­lems.
Where Meet at Inter River Park, the far north end of the park­ing area beside the soccer fields off Lil­looet Road near Capi­lano Uni­ver­sity. Bring Treats and coffee will be pro­vided by Delany’s. Please bring other food and drinks that will keep you going for at least 4 hours. Be sure to have a good breakfast.

How Long The fun starts at 9:00 am and will con­tinue for at least 4 hours. If you miss us at the start simply head north on the main trail until you come across a bunch of run­ners get­ting dirty and having fun as usual.
Sup­plies Tools and mate­ri­als will be pro­vided by the Dis­trict of North Van­cou­ver. We may have gloves avail­able but please bring your own gloves and appro­pri­ate cloth­ing. You will be get­ting dirty. If you have a favourite tool you’re wel­come to bring it but make sure it is marked with your name. If you have buck­ets, picks, shov­els, and ham­mers, bring them too, just in case we run out of hard­ware. Also, please con­tact Andrew if you have a chain­saw and can bring it (along with your­self as the oper­a­tor, of course). Note : you will only be able to use the chain­saw under the guid­ance of Graham Knell from the Dis­trict of North Van­cou­ver. Please do not do your own trail main­te­nance at any time with a chain­saw unless Graham is there.
