May 25, 2008 Thank you to those of you who've been in touch with suggestions. Some very valid points were raised that our 'first come, first served' process puts out-of-towners at a disadvantage for both the banquet & jacket. Please read below for the changes we've made to ensure everyone who wants to come to the banquet will get a ticket & how you have an option for pre-payment & reservation of a jacket. BanquetThe banquet is a very special part of the Knee Knacker and we encourage all participants, volunteers, friends & family to attend. Following is the updated banquet ticket process:
If you've run the race before, you know that you used to get a free runner's banquet ticket and a free guest ticket. Unfortunately, costs in all areas of the race have increased & we can not afford to provide complimentary guest tickets any more. Please note that all volunteers still receive a free dinner ticket. If you have any questions, please contact Andrew Wong through the feedback form. JacketsWe have ordered 100 jackets, and while we expect the demand will be higher than the supply, we are selling these at cost & need to ensure we don't have any left over. We have the option to place a second order if necessary. If you would like to reserve a jacket:
The cheque must be received by July 7th. With the cheque, your jacket size is guaranteed and it will be set aside until the end of packet pickup on Friday night. If by July 7th we realize we will be short on some sizes, we will place an additional order for those who have pre-paid & you will be able to pick up your jacket approx. 6 weeks from race day (or you can take your cheque back). Please note: If you prefer not to pre-pay, you can still come on a first-come, first-served basis. If we don't have the size you want, we will order it only after all of our inventory has been sold. The jackets are a high quality, Gaia garment - they are simple & classy - primarily black with a bit of grey detail on the shoulder. They will have no sponsors logos on them, only the commemorative 20th Annual Knee Knacker logo at the top on the back. They fit pretty 'true to size'. For those who know us & want a benchmark, I am a women's M & Jeff is a men's L or XL. I look forward to seeing you on the trails,
