Hello & Happy New Year! Welcome to the 19th Annual Knee Knackering North Shore Trail Run - July 14th, 2007! Thank You This year brings some changes to our Knee Knacker committee. Though still heavily involved in our trail running community, Francine Hong has decided it’s time to move on from the Knee Knacker committee. Francine has been actively involved in the Knee Knacker since 1998, having run the race 5 times and served on the committee for 5 years. Francine’s fantastic organizational skills (she was the very first person to sign up this year!), her attention to all of the details, and famous Knee Knacker baking will be missed. Also, after a milestone year, a return to running the Knee Knacker, an amazing trip to Africa, a new home, and 19 years of leadership and involvement with the Knee Knacker, Enzo Federico has decided it’s time to step down from his official capacities on the committee. Enzo will continue to work with us behind the scenes and rumour has it he will be signing up to run again this year. The Knee Knacker would not be the race it is today without Francine and Enzo, and I am grateful for their leadership, vision and sense of community. The next time you see Francine & Enzo, please join me in thanking them for both for their enormous contributions to our trail running community! 2007 Planning ** Webmaster Needed ** - Are you looking for a new way to contribute to the Knee Knacker? Are you interested in managing www.kneeknacker.com? We will be looking for someone to keep our website updated with the posts throughout the year, race day results, photos and info. If you’re interested, please contact me at rd@kneeknacker.com. I’m pleased to announce our current 2007 committee members:
Please don’t hesitate to contact any one of us through http://www.kneeknacker.com/RaceInfo/2007/contacts.htm. Additionally, there is a crew of over 200 volunteers that work to make the race a success each year. Without them, it just wouldn’t happen. If you will be entering the race this year, please do your best to recruit a volunteer. If you are a volunteer, thank you. For more info, or to sign up as a volunteer, please check out http://www.kneeknacker.com/RaceInfo/2007/Volunteer.htm. New Entry Requirement for 2007 In order to support our trail running community even further, we have included a new entry requirement for Knee Knacker 2007 of a minimum of 4 hours of community volunteer work. The period to meet this requirement for 2007 is from July 1, 2006 to June 17, 2007. An online form will be available at www.kneeknacker.com that you can fill in with details of the work you performed to meet this requirement, including date of service, event/race, and what was performed. The Knee Knacker Race Committee must receive all necessary information by June 22, 2007 (3 weeks prior to race day), or you will not be allowed to participate in the run. We recognize that many people already contribute numerous hours for many different causes and we thank you for this.
