Last Quarter, 12 Km
Well, we finally got one of those days that we deserved...sunshine! A whole slew (50ish) of Knee Knackerers made it out for the final training run before the big event. Congratulations to all of you...you've done your homework & now it's time for the final exam. Personally, it's a bittersweet moment as I find the social aspect of the Knee Knacker training runs to be one of the highlights of my year. Knowing that the race is just around the corner is quite exciting in that everyone has trained very hard & is ready to go...but that the event itself is coming to an end. Just as the training runs have provided everybody with good & not-so-good moments, so will this week's race. You will all have some interesting stories to tell by the end of the race & I hope to hear as many of them as possible at the finish or at the banquet. Craig has some excellent advice in his run report & I would add one more bit. A friend with a heap of endurance sport experience has the answer...no matter how much tossing & turning you do the night before the race...no matter what the weather...no matter how big the hill...no matter how much further you have to go...no matter what... He says..."It is what it is." - Jim Mandelli Best of luck & remember to look around & enjoy the view!
