May 29 Training Run — Limited Parking at Cleveland
A reminder that parking may be an issue for the May 29 training run, as the NSA Iron and Tender Knee Trail Race is starting at Cleveland Park (while we’ll be starting from Cleveland Dam). Park on the side streets, if needed.
May 22 Training Run Report — She Said
Despite having a mix up with our meeting place, we still managed to organize the posse of about 40 runners and take off into the trails by 7:45 am. Not bad, considering nearly some of our group was parked at the dam at 7:30 and needed to high tail it over to Lynn Canyon parking lot. Continue reading
May 22 Training Run Report — He Said
Blame it on NYC.
I had missed the previous week’s training run due to travel, but I made it back home in time for the Last ½ run on Sunday from Cleveland Dam to Deep Cove….or so I thought. Or rather….I wasn’t (thinking). Continue reading

June 4 Trail Day — Work Party Details
Hi, everyone!
This year’s Knee Knacker Trail Day, on Saturday, June 4 , will be on the Baden Powell trail near Hyannis Drive in the Blueridge area (see map below). We’ll be working under the guidance of Graham Knell, North Vancouver District Trail and Habitat Coordinator. You don’t need any special skills to help on Trail Day, just a willingness to improve the trails that we all enjoy!
Meeting Place and Time
- We’ll meet at the BP trailhead at Hyannis Drive and Berkley Avenue in North Vancouver. From Mt. Seymour Parkway, turn north onto Berkley Road. Continue to the end of the road and turn left at Hyannis Drive. (See the map below.)
- Arrive between 8:30am-9am to sign in, get a brief orientation and enjoy some treats. Continue reading
Dog Lost on Baden Powell
Message from Laureen Griffin: My dog, Sparky, a 14 pound cock-a-poo was staying with a friend in Blue Ridge and escaped from her yard on Wednesday, May 18th around 2:30. On Friday, he was spotted on Arbrorlynn Drive at the curve in the road. He was spotted this morning (Sunday) at the Baden Powell trail head at Lonsdale and Skyline. Continue reading
Training Run Thanks
Well, thank you everyone for your flexibility and understanding with today’s training run. We made an error in both the planned run for today and the meeting point and didn’t catch it until late last night. Thank you to Glenn and Patricia who did their best to ensure we didn’t leave anyone hanging, and I do apologize if the communication caused frustration.
It was good to see so many familiar faces today. For next week’s run, the meeting place is as posted — Cleveland dam at 8am. Please be in touch if you have questions or comments.
Happy training!
Kelsy
May 22 Training Run — Meeting Place Changed to Cleveland Dam
Last minute change to tomorrow’s training run meeting place! We’re meeting at Cleveland Dam (at 7:30am), not Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. Sorry for the short notice, it was an error in the schedule details that was just caught late today.
